Witness the thrilling performance as Bumrah and Siraj dismantle Bangladesh, leading India to a commanding lead of over 300 runs in this exciting match.
Introduction:
India tightened their grip on the second day in the Test against Bangladesh with a stellar all-round performance. Bowling out Bangladesh for a mere 149, India extended their lead and are firmly in control as they head into day three.
Bangladesh’s bright start fizzled out
Bangladesh responded to a brief optimism in the early part of the second morning when it took only short space of time to claim India’s remaining four wickets. Taskin Ahmed bowled well with the second new ball, while Hasan Mahmud accounted for Bangladesh’s first five-wicket haul on Indian soil. India could add only 37 to their overnight score and were bowled over for 376.
Bangladesh was able to make it an early series, making sure that the Indian innings was contained in a relatively short time frame before India took over again. The Indian pace attack spearheaded by Jasprit Bumrah, Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj were simply shifting through Bangladesh’s batting lineup with minimal resistance.

Bumrah set the tone early with some wickets while Akash Deep and Siraj kept the pressure relentless from both ends. Bangla’s batsmen were not coming to terms with the sort of speed and movement the ball was getting, and they collapsed for a meager 149 in 47.1 overs. India ended day two of the match with an overall lead of 227 runs and more than in control.

Indian Pacers on Fire: Bumrah and Siraj
Bangladesh fought a hard battle from the very first ball as Bumrah sent back Shadman Islam with a beautiful delivery that seamed back in, hitting the top of off stump. Akash Deep picked up Zakir Hasan and Mominul Haque on either side of lunch break, both batsmen got dismissed by deliveries which seamed off a good length. Siraj continued the onslaught after lunch, getting the key wicket of Najmul Hossain Shanto, who edged the ball to second slip.
Bumrah had back to haunt Bangladesh, as this time he attacked the edge off a delivery that would have sworn to never have swung after pitching, at second slip by KL Rahul. Wickets were falling at regular intervals as Bangladesh could make only a partnership of 51 runs between Litton Das and Shakib Al Hasan, after which spinners Ravindra Jadeja and
Ravichandran Ashwin strangled the scoring
Litton’s move to strangle Indians’ left-arm spin backfired when he got caught at deep square leg off a mistimed slog-sweep. Shakib’s forlorn wicket came immediately, as a reverse sweep off Jadeja hit his boot and lobbed to wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant.
After some brief resistance from the last two wickets, India’s pace attack cleaned up the tail, as vicious short balls eventually helped in the sending off of Taskin Ahmed, while Siraj bowled Nahid Rana to end Bangladesh’s innings.
Conclusion:
Bangladesh Not To Follow On: India for a while refrained from enforcing follow-on.
India, with a 227 runs lead only, did nothing else but enforced the follow-on rather than batting again. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma had started aggressively but Bangladesh fought back by taking three wickets before the stumps. However, India has ended the day with more than 300 runs lead and seven second innings wickets in hand that gives complete control of the match.
