Facundo Buonanotte Shines as Leicester Beat Bournemouth 1-0 at King Power

Read about Facundo Buonanotte’s impressive contribution in Leicester’s 1-0 triumph over Bournemouth, showcasing his talent at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League.

Introduction:

The Foxes claimed their first Premier League of the campaign as a stunning strike in the 16th minute by Facundo Buonanotte was enough to claim all three points for the Foxes as they climbed out of the relegation zone to 15th place, taking the last-minute victory over AFC Bournemouth 1-0 at the King Power Stadium. For the best part of the second half, Bournemouth were put under siege by the hosts, with the last few attacks reaching the tonal woodwork twice and a goal disallowed which could have changed the course of things for the players.

Moment of Magic Facundo Buonanotte

The Foxes were keen to get the game going. It was not too long before their attacking intent paid off with a goal on the 16th minute. Facundo Buonanotte combined excellently with James Justin as he exchanged an instant one-two, beating Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi, following which, loaned in from Brighton & Hove Albion, the Argentine curled a great left-footed strike past Kepa Arrizabalaga to give Leicester the lead.

It was Buonanotte who provided the most effective leadership throughout the match, his creativity and movement around the No. 10 slot always creating problems for Bournemouth: indeed, he had Jamie Vardy clean through to double the score, later in the first half, though Vardy wasted the chance.

Bournemouth’s Second Half Surge

Even though Leicester had the better of things in the first half, Bournemouth took a great deal of influence into the second. And the Cherries did manage to get some worrying moments for Leicester as they sailed perilously close to being levelled on quite a few occasions. Just five minutes after the break, Illia Zabarnyi struck the crossbar with a header from a Lewis Cook free-kick, alerting everybody to the rising threat of Bournemouth.

They believed they leveled the scores in the 66th minute with a Cook curled free-kick to the net but this was going to be turned out to be too little, too late as VAR confirmed that Evanilson remained in an offside position which obstructed the view for the Leicester goalkeeper.

Bournemouth continued to mount attack after attack, and substitute Dango Ouattara also hit the woodwork from a strong header that the Leicester defense could not muster enough to get passed to the back of the net.

Leicester Fight Back For Crucial Victory

By the last quarter of the match, Bournemouth continued to pressure Leicester’s defense, which held firm. Important saves from Mads Hermansen saw Bournemouth dominate possession and create opportunities aplenty, though without finding a way past.

In the dying throes of the game, Bournemouth had one last chance to salvage a point. Substitute Enes Unal managed to get himself in a clear shot inside the box, but his effort sailed over the bar as Leicester and their fans breathed a collective sigh of relief.

This much-needed win sees Leicester claim 15th position in the Premier League table with six points from seven matches as Bournemouth can hold onto 13th place, two points ahead of the Foxes.

Buonanotte Shines for Leicester

Leicester City outstanding youngster was Facundo Buonanotte. The 19-year-old youngster has already won over a chunk of the fans since his arrival on loan from Brighton, but that Bournemouth matchwinner could seal the deal completely with the Leicester faithful. His energy and vision in the final third have given a cutting edge to Leicester, which has lacked this season.

This second Buonanotte goal of the campaign bade Leicester an end to their run of winless matches while asserting that he could play a pivotal role in keeping the Foxes away from the Premier League ditch. If this form continues, he may prove Leicester’s key player as they rise up the table.

Missed Opportunities for Bournemouth

For Bournemouth, it was again what could have been. With much better second-half play, they were ruing missed chances and a little bit of bad luck. Hitting the woodwork twice and a goal being disallowed summed up the frustration for the Cherries as they failed to mount a successful comeback.

Conclusion:

Andoni Iraola’s side has been pretty resilient this season, one good example being to come from two goals behind to win against Everton. On this occasion, they couldn’t manage the same feat, and in order to adapt a matchday schedule of matches which include Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Manchester City, Bournemouth needs to ensure they play better at the back if it doesn’t wish to fall further down the table.
