Stimulating the school world and citizens in general to be an active part of the changes necessary to face today’s challenges, from the environment to gender equality, from the fight against poverty to building peaceful and strong institutions: this is the aim of the CivicAttiva project by Robert F. Kennedy’s Human Rights Italia, which will be hosted for the third year on the Treccani Scuola media platform, with the first 3 of the 7 modules already online, focusing on the theme of civic education.
The new project “School Belongs to Everyone” is aimed at school teachers of all grades and is accredited on the SOFIA platform with ID 87344. The fight against educational poverty”, completely free, consists of video lessons with learning tests and detailed materials and is divided into 7 modules, one of which is an introductory one that illustrates the context of the subject of civic education and the innovations introduced by Law 92/2019, as well as the educational activities made available to schools by Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Italia, a training body recognized by the Ministry of Education under Decree 170/2016; 6 modules that will analyze the phenomenon of educational poverty and early school leaving from different angles through the experiences of university professors and experts from the world of the third sector.
The overall goal of the course is to provide participants with an in-depth analysis of the dynamics—social, emotional, and economic—that drive educational poverty in our country, as well as food for thought, best practices, and suggestions for classroom activities. The course, like the two previous ones, is the result of cooperation that RFK Italia managed to implement to support teachers in teaching civics, but above all in building a truly active and aware citizenship.
The contribution of Edulia Dal Sapore Treccani is essential in spreading the content to an ever wider audience of teachers, even in the podcast version. The next 4 modules will be online on January 25, 2024.
“We are delighted to be able to take this ECEC journey next to Edulio so that Italian teachers and educators have a dedicated space to draw information and ideas for teaching civics,” said Stefano Lucchini, President of RFK Italy.
“We are happy to act as an amplifier for this virtuous initiative of RFK Italia among the many teachers who are part of our community,” says Cristina Pozzi, CEO of Edulia Dal Sapere Treccani. “Teaching civics is a primary goal for building the society of tomorrow and these modules enrich our teaching offer based on a forward-looking school; our mission, perfectly aligned with that of the Italian Encyclopedic Institute, has always been aimed at spreading knowledge, culture, and skills, as well as creating a strategic, systematic and measurable impact on the orientation of young people”.
Teachers and lecturers, permanent and unpaid, will receive a certificate of participation in at least 50% of the course.
On Tuesday 19 December at 17:00, there will be a webinar with Rachele Furfaro, President of FOQUS Fondazione Quartieri Spagnoli onlus, Valentina Pagliai, Manager of Education and Heritage of RFK Italia, and Carolina Rocha Barreto, Specialist of Education and Communication of RFK Italia, within the Club teachers of Edulia Treccani Scuola.
