Apple recently introduced a redesigned version of the Apple TV app. The new interface provides even easier access to Apple’s award-winning original content, live sporting events, movies, and shows on Apple devices, smart TVs, streaming controllers, gaming consoles, and more. A new, simplified interface sidebar lets you quickly move around the app and access Apple TV+ for Apple Original movies and series, the MLS Season Pass for watching Major League Soccer, the Store for buying or renting current movies, and shortcuts to apps and channels you already use, such as Disney+, Paramount+, and Max.

The new sidebar includes the Home section, a guide that includes all the most popular series, movies, and sports events. The “Channels & Apps” subsection allows you to browse through all your subscribed channels and connected apps. In addition, collections such as “New Shows & Movies,” Rankings, “Trending,” and “For You” display personalized suggestions so that subscribers can discover the latest news and programs that best suit their tastes.

On devices in the living room, profiles of the entire family will appear in the sidebar, allowing you to quickly switch users to see relevant content in the Next section and receive personalized suggestions. However, the updated Store panel brings together movies and series into one showcase, so accessing content to buy or rent will be even easier. In addition, the panel includes a new “Add channels and apps” section where you can explore the most popular streaming services.

The update also means that the iTunes Store app for iPhone and iPad and the iTunes Movies and TV Shows app on Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD will redirect people to the Apple TV app, where they can access previous purchases and watch all their favorite movies and TV shows in one place.
