A new “piece” has been added to the prestigious Leica collection. This is not an “M-series” rangefinder, nor an advanced SL mirrorless system, but rather a sophisticated watch handcrafted in Switzerland.
It is equipped with a Leica LA-3001 automatic movement designed and manufactured in collaboration with Chronode SA. Leica ZM 11 “runs” with a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour with a difference of -4/+6 seconds per day and offers a power reserve of 60 hours. Waterproof up to 100 meters submerged, it also features an Easy-Change locking system; A mechanism integrated into the eyelet part of the case allows the strap to be quickly switched between those available, namely stainless steel, titanium, rubber, and fabric.
Produced with midnight blue, coffee black, and red edition dials, the ZM 11 can be purchased at Leica Stores worldwide starting at €6,920 (however, you need €8,300 to purchase the titanium strap version).
Leica ZM 1 Gold Limited Edition: when time is precious
Product Edition is limited to 50 pieces it’s instead Limited Edition Leica ZM 1 Goldwatch with a diameter of 41 mm and a thickness of 14.5 mm inspired by the first Leica camera made of gold: IA Luxus from 1929. The brushed case is made of 18k gold and grade 5 titanium, while the strap is alligator leather, crafted in Italy. The watch is complemented by the LH-1001 mechanical movement, manufactured and assembled by hand at the manufacturer Lehmann Präzision; with 26 rubies the hand stretch has approximately 60 hours of autonomy and remains visible thanks to the transparent back of the case. To the delight of fans of the brand, the power reserve indicator (on the dial between 8 and 9 o’clock) is a reference to the exposure meter dedicated to the old Leica M3 rangefinders.
